Welcome to the Informal Bulker Operators' Safety Forum (IBOSF) – your gateway to a safer and more collaborative future in the world of bulk carriers. As a pivotal force in global trade, bulk carriers navigate the challenges of transporting massive quantities of dry commodities such as coal, iron ore, and grains. However, with approximately 13,000 bulk carriers traversing the seas, a dedicated platform for addressing the unique safety challenges faced by this industry has been notably absent – until now

Our Mission

At IBOSF, we recognize the critical role bulk carriers play in the global trade ecosystem. Our mission is to bridge the existing gap in the industry by establishing an open and collaborative platform for bulk carrier safety professionals. We aim to provide a space where these professionals can engage in discussions surrounding health, safety, security, and environmental (HSSE) issues prevalent in their daily operations.
